Mucking around feeding

Sorry for the random title, didnt know how to word it!!
Little one is 9 weeks old. Tommee tippee bottles size 2 teat. 6oz. When he doesn't muck around (night feed etc) he drains the bottle.
Past week he has been drinking 2/3oz then pushing the teat out with his tongue. I burp him loads then try to feed them again but he chews the teat, pushes it around his mouth etc for a good 5/10 mins before he eventually feeds again and drinks the lot.
I have tried just stopping at the 3oz but hes a big 14lb boy and after 10 mins realises he actually is still hungry and cries.
Iv tried the variflow teats but he gulped coughed sputtered and drank far too fast .
Any ideas??? X

I had the same issue with my DD, strangely enough after she had her 12 week jags.

Spoke to HV and she said it could be one of two things- either a delayed reaction to jags or teething. For us it was trial and error, she improved after a couple of days. Is this a new thing for your wee one? Has he had his jags recently?

All I can suggest is if he won't take a full feed just persevere and get him to take what he wants- hopefully he'll go back to how he was! My DD has recently started doing this again and she had her 16 week jags on Tuesday! She's usually on 6oz feeds but has only been taking 3oz a time. It's incredibly frustrating but does pass!

Yes he had his jabs a week ago, how strange! I hope not teething at 9 weeks!

I hope not either, my HV said their teeth can apparently start growing under the guns around that time!

I first noticed DD being like this after her 6in1 jab at 12 weeks and she's now doing the same after having that jab along with the others at 16 weeks... strange! Any better this morning?

Thank you for the reply. Weirdly when we are out he feeds better and when indoors messes around???? Strange! A bit better today though x

I sometimes find that too- think it's the distraction! Glad to hear things are improving x
