We've spent weeks researching and testing breast pumps and bottles in real homes with real families. Read our baby feeding bottle and breast pump reviews to find out which ones were awarded Mumsnet Best.

Start using Mumsnet PremiumManual pump with glass bottles?
(5 Posts)I'm looking at the Philips Avent which seems great for my needs, but the website mentions that they don't advise using it with their glass bottles because of leaking. Has anyone tried it - is it really ususable or does it just leak a little occasionally? Or can you recommend another pump that is compatible with glass bottles?
Thanks!
Hi hipster, has LO arrived yet? If not, I'd really, really recommend waiting until you've got LO and feeding is established
Oh no, not for ages, I'm just trying to research and decide on things to buy later on so I don't panic-shop in the last week. Why would you recommend waiting exactly? Would the best choice of pump/bottles depend on particular feeding habits?
You usually don't pump for the first few weeks OP and if you need to for medical reasons, then the hospital usually lend you a pump anyway.
If you leave it and go to BFing support groups while you're still PG, you'll probably hear recommendations and offers that are on.
Manufacturers could bring out new ranges before you need to buy too.
You might find that hand expressing works well for you and you don't need to buy a pump at all
Thanks for the advice, much appreciated!
