Is supplementing with vitamin d when solely breastfeeding a thing now?

I received a sample of some vitamin d drops in a bounty pack so have had a quick google but confused as to whether it’s recommended or not. Does anybody else use them?

When I remember (which isn't often).

It is advised to but most of the mums I've spoken to tend to forget as much as me

Yes. Best ones are called d drops. Literally one droplet on your nipple before a feed. Very easy.

Yes. I think it is now pretty much agreed that most people should be getting more Vitamin D. Babies can get around half their intake from BM, but a supplement is a good idea.

This is standard in Spain, you are given a prescription to get it from the pharmacy at babies one week check up and are told to give it to your baby until they are 6 months old.
