Dr browns bottles

Hi everyone

I am a new mum to a beautiful little boy who is 8 weeks old now. It’s been a whirlwind but he’s been worth it. Having trouble getting him to sleep at night after his bottle around 9pm. He sleeps fine in the day but it seems when it gets to that time he just gets ‘hyper’ even after a bath.
We changed to dr brown bottles and now use the Aldi mamia food (instead of Aptimal) and he seems much more settled but still not great at night time sleeping.
Has anyone found the dr browns to be any good? I don’t want to invest in even more (very clunky I must add) bottles if they are not going to work out.
Thanks in advance
Laura 😊

Hi Laura,

My DTs are now 11 months and the dr browns bottles have been brilliant. We switched to them at a few weeks old when DS had colic - it didn’t make it go completely, but they did help and stopped him sicking his milk up and reduced the screaming in pain quite a bit too. We got a dr browns steriliser too, you can fit 4 at a time in, including the vents.

You can also buy travel caps so you can shake the formula to make them, and also travel so you don’t have to keep them upright.

We’ve got amazon prime, I got all our bottles, steriliser, caps, bottle brushes including the vent brushes etc from there - I found them to be the cheapest, and the bigger size teats too as they grew!

My DTs started sleeping for a few hour long stretch overnight at 8 weeks, and properly at 12-14 weeks - I used to wake them around midnight for a last bedtime bottle. We didn’t drop this one until they started weaning.
