Boobs not filling up

This isn’t a huge issue as my dd is 20 months but she still likes to breastfeed quite often when with me (fine if I’m not there - I’m aware a lot of it is comfort). Anyway the last few days boobs have stopped filling up which is weird. And is making bf uncomfortable. I’m also a bit fat and getting really bloated and now boobs are really flat and that’s making me look even worse!! Probably sound like a selfish arse but just wondering if anyone knows why my boobs would have stopped filling up like they normally do and anything I can do about it? I would quite like to stop feeding altogether but she is still rather keen. She still feeds overnight, once or twice.

Could you possibly be pregnant?

Boobs don't fill up between feeds. Espicaly with long term breastfeeding, milk is made on demand at the breast. Hence why at one point it was labelled on demand feeding (I believe this term is out of favour now).

You've probably just reached a stage with breastfeeding where everything has equalized. Toddlers can need reminding how to feed more comfortably as well. Teaching them feeding makers helps. Kellymom.com website should have some good information.

I will caution though, have you taken any cold or flu tablets at all? Breastfeeding mum's really do need to avoid decongestants. They can dry up milk and longer term feeding mum's are more at risk of this.

My DD is 18m and still feeds just morning and night. Even if I miss a feed altogether my boobs don't fill up any more. DD is definitely still getting milk from me though.

It could be that you body is just adjusting, I've found that the less my toddler feeds, the less my boobs fill up. This is number 3 I've BF & they have all been the same. Your boobs do feel a little less firm more squashy once you've completely finished BF. I assume that's cause there's more milk ducts over fat

I’ve breast fed all three of mine into toddlerhood. My breasts didn’t ‘Fill’ so to speak. The reason I asked if you could be pregnant is because you said it was uncomfortable not that they weren’t filling.

Miggil mine definitely always felt fuller if I hadn’t fed for a while and one side is usually fuller if I fed on the other side last time. But I’m sure things are just adjusting. Extremely unlikely that I’m pregnant! Thanks everyone!
