(7 Posts)Thank you so much all for sharing! Good to know the nothing to worry about ☺️
Mine did this at most feeds! She just loved her milk and was prone to vomiting. Sometimes projectile, mostly a very big dribble. I would have been worried but she gained weight as expected (and was a bit of a chunk, unsurprisingly). She wasn’t bothered by the vomiting so we just lived with it and did A LOT of washing. It stopped when she weaned and she’s now a very healthy, hearty kid.
Yep! I would worry at all unless it happens again.
DS used to do that ALL the time. Greedy, and just v prone to vomit. He gets car sick now, sometimes, and still vomits on the rare occasion that he eats too much. DD did it once in a while, but v little after about 4 months. I wouldn't be remotely concerned. A day of being off schedule would have virtually guaranteed a vomit for both of them. Usually all over me.
DS1 used to do this every night. 5 years later he was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, I think in his case he was always hungry.
Mine does it a lot. She has always comfort sucked a lot, can also be very unsettled by strangers, but once she got more efficient at extracting milk still wanted to comfort suck and would just throw loads up.
I've been advised it won't do any harm, it's just messy
I BF baby (10 weeks old) to sleep every night and my breast is usually the correct 'fullness' for him to get a decent sized meal, do a bit of comfort sucking then fall asleep, all within around 20mins.
But today we had a busy day with lots of visitors so baby's feeds were messed up. We ended up with him at bed time, quite full already from a recent feed, but still needing to nurse to sleep.
I offered him a boob which he drained, and within 5 mins he projectile vomited what seemed like a whole gallon of milk back up, poor little bub 😭 But of course he was super tired and still wanted to feed to sleep (even though he must have been full to the brim). I let him and he fell asleep fine (this was just now), but we will see if he brings it all back up again later on!
Just wondering if anybody else has had a similar thing happen? I have never seen such a massive amount of vomit from him, and felt so sorry for him that he still wanted to eat so he could drift off!
Would it have been better for me to pump the boob empty beforehand so he can just comfort suck?
Any help/experience much appreciated!!!
