Infant feeding

Yoghurts which is best/how many

My 10 month old absolutely loves fromage frais. I've been giving her Tesco ones that have 9.3g sugar per 100g (less than Petite Filou). I'd still like to find a lower sugar alternative, can anyone suggest a yogurt that's low sugar for babies.
Also how much yoghurt can she have each day?
Thank you!

Can you try making your own fromage frais? Buy the plain one and then put frozen berries in a pan with a bit (a tiny bit) of icing sugar and squeezed lemon. Let it cool down, blend it and mix it.

The more sugary food she has, the less likely she will be to develop a taste for veggies.

Look at labels. Not only the sugar/fat/ptotein but also the list of ingredients. Avoid anything that has sweeteners in it. The longer the list of ingredients, the more artificial it is.

There’s a Little Yeo (Yeo Valley organic) fromage frais which is totally natural sugar free. You can buy it from Ocado or in Waitrose, or at least you could when I last visited the UK last month. Or as similar is impossible to find where I live, I do natural yoghurt with a spoon of fruit purée. I’d say two a day is fine if they’re small-ish and sugar free, if you’re feeding ones with sugar in then I’d personally stick to one.

You can get little yeos from Tesco too Smile

Careful. They are not sugar free!
Even if it says no added table sugar, when you look at the ingredients details you can see it still has 9.2 gr of sugar / 100gt. Concentrated grape juice, if just juice that has been evaporated so the water is out but the sugar is still sugar. Then some more fruit puree, that's sugar

I used to give DS Little Yeo’s and the Rachel’s yoghurts for small kids. Both less than petit filous and both widely available - usually on 2 for £3 at Asda.

Thank you everyone! I'm going to buy some natural yogurt and mix it with the puréed fruit I make for her, fingers crossed!
