mixing frozen and fresh ebm?

Can I add fresh ebm to (defrosted) frozen ebm?

I did, but only if I was going to give it immediately. Don't add still-warm ebm to fridge-cold ebm and then store it.

bitzermaloney - why not? And what should I do then if I have a couple of ozs in the fridge but need to express more and add to it??

It's something to do with bacteria growth...(I read it on an Association of Breastfeeding Mothers leaflet on the web). The warm ebm will heat the refrigerated ebm slightly before cooling again, which is not good. When I had a couple of oz in the fridge and expressed some more I used to put it in a different bottle in the fridge till it had cooled, then mix the two.
