Mastitis after stopping breastfeeding?

So I'm just wondering if it's possible to get mastitis weeks after finishing bf? I stopped feeding my 12 mo DD about 3 weeks ago after gradually dropping a feed per week then finally night weaning. Had no problems at all, never became engorged etc - my supply just seems to drop with demand and I thought I was done! However in the last few days one of my boobs (the one I mainly fed from the last few weeks of bf when she was down to one feed a day) has become hard and lumpy on one side, and is pretty painful. I tried to massage it as if it were a blocked duct and it did relieve it a bit - and I was surprised to get a lot of clear liquid leaking from it.

Anyone else had this before? Is it a normal part of weaning? Or do I need to visit the GP?

I took ibuprofen, sudafed and sage tea a few times a day after weaning and I did feel a bit ropey at first. Maybe try this and see if it helps? If you get feverish/red marks then definitely see GP though as you need antibiotics to stop mastitis turning into an abscess (voice of bitter experience...)
