Food Shopping Day today... what to buy for LO?!

My DS is almost 20months and honest to God, I don't half struggle with foods for him sometimes! Every morning is the same old thing - cereal with milk, banana, strawberries and cheese stick... occasionally he might have some toast!

Lunch would be something like nuggets with mash & beans, then dinner is leftover dinner that I made a few nights ago which he wouldn't really eat.

I'm struggling with snacks... He would have a packet of quavers, an oaty bar, and maybe a croissant or something?

I'm considering getting them Hungry Hero microwave / oven meals for days we are struggling? My DH usually struggles cos he doesn't really cook, I am the main person that cooks. But otherwise, what else can I buy? What do you give to your LOs? Really need some ideas as I feel he just eats the same stuff all the time bless him Sad

Can't he just eat what you eat?

My 17 month old has mostly what we have apart from the odd takeaway.

I agree, why buy something different? Just give him what you’re having.

Dc4 is 19 months. He eats most things we do.

Yesterday he had

Weetabix
A banana
Tuna pasta with sweetcorn and cucumber
Mini custard pot
A satsuma
Quarter of a burger off the bbq (no bun), breadsticks, salad, cheese and pasta salad
An ice lolly

He should have had milk and a biscuit before bed but he threw it at me

Dd normally has leftovers as one of her meals. Yesterday was some duck and fried rice with cucumber - we’d had duck pancakes and a chicken dish with fried rice.
I tend to do a hot meal and then either sandwiches or easy heat in the microwave food (beans on toast, scrambled egg) for the other meal.
Snacks that are going down well atm are drinking yoghurts, watermelon and some chocolate oat biscuits. We have some ice pops in the freezer too. She loves crisps but I try to limit them to after swimming or picnics (as she’s eat them/ask for them all day otherwise)

I do give him what I'm having but 90% of the time he won't eat it or is very fussy :(

Maybe I'm harsh if mine doesn't eat it then tough he gets nothing til the next meal. He doesn't have a huge appetite anyway.

I hate when people assume every child can just eat whatever everyone else is eating. Mine still (almost 3) would rather have nothing than eat something he didn't like.

Some of the things mine would eat were:
Breadsticks with hummus, carrot sticks & hummus, soups, spaghetti bolognese, pizza, slices of ham or chicken, cucumber slices, sweetcorn, and peas.
