Feeding around 2 naps

I have a 7mo who is the slowest milk drinker(size 2 teat, 3 too fast) and food eater! I’m finding I’m feeding him all day with 3 meals a day and bottles and it means bottles and meals are running into each other due to how naps r!

Ok sleep times are
Wake 7
Nap 10-11
Nap 2-4
Bed 7
Wakes once for a small bottle or not at all overnight

Bottle and feed times have been as below - but I need to change this as he’s just not hungry as the last 2 are too close!

715 - 7ounces
8-Brekkie (but usually taken 45
Mins to have bottle as he splits it in 2 for some reason so he’s not very hungry by 8,but by 9 he’s getting a bit tired?)
1115 - 7 ounces
1230-Lunch (this works ok)
4-7 ounces
530 - dinner
645-7 ounces

I’m finding from 4 to 7 I’m feeding the whole time! And he’s not hungry for bedtime bottle as under 3 hours between.

Should I reduce his 4 bottle? Or split it? Some before and after the nap?
Should I give food at diff times?!
He’s generally having less in each bottle too but he’s not having much solids I don’t think - 1 ice cube worth of purée / 3/4 of the 4 month ella pouch if we r out/odd finger food or could he actually be ready to reduce his bottles?

Also how long is reasonable to put him for meal time? He gets very angry by 20 Mins but has usually only had a few teaspoons and a suck on some fruit!

I’d cut out one of the meals for a couple of weeks, just to give you a both a bit of a break. I think 20 mins for a meal is more than enough too. Babies are pretty good at self regulating how much they eat. If he’s getting frustrated, he’s had enough Smile

Breakfast 8
Nap 9-10
Snack and drink mid morning
Lunch 12.30
Nap 1-3
Milk mid afternoon
Tea at 5pm
Milk 6.30
Milk 11pm

Thanks guys.
So molly looks like urs doesn’t have a 11 o’clock feed? Suppose I’m worried about dropping feeds but I don’t think he’s having enough solids yet? Thanks!

No she just wasn't interested in a morning feed, it took loads of faffing to get her to have any. I switched to giving her a yoghurt and a drink of water instead.

Around this age my DD dropped her morning milk (11am) and routine was something like this.

7am - 7oz milk
8am Breakfast
9am nap for an hour or two
11am water and snack
Midday Lunch
1.30 short nap (she always took main nap in morning)
3pm 7oz milk
5pm Tea
645pm 7oz milk

She dropped night feeds at 8 weeks Halo

At the moment my 7 month old
8am wake
8.30-9am 7ounces
9-930am breakfast (often small)
10 -12 nap
12pm 7ounces
1230pm lunch
130pm nap
330pm 7ounces
530pm dinner (blw style so maybe less goes in)
7pm 7ounces before bed

My now 8.5 monther was barely eating a single thing at 7 months. Keep bottles as they are and maybe stick to one meal (breakfast?) at the same time you are doing it now for a couple of weeks. Then gradually add in lunch and dinner when you notice more food consumption? I've found that finger food rather than purée much less stressful as you leave it to yhebaby to have what he/she wants. He is getting all he needs from his milk any way at this point so food is just a bonus. He will get hungrier and eat more food but it may take another month yet.

Ummmm also my health visitor said if I wanted baby to eat more, I had to give him less milk feeds (breast fed). Maybe you could cut a little milk out? I'm not sure though. Sounds like what you're doing milk wise is 👌.

It's only in the last week that my son has started really chowing down.

At 7 months he's still just getting used to solids. For us it took to 9 months to get eating established. I'd make meal times short and sweet. Stop way before he's got upset. When he's eating well at one or two meals then build up.
