If he's exclusively bf, he can't be constipated. He also doesn't need any water. Not having pooed for 2 days isn't that unusual for a bf baby. I've seen baby massage recommended on MN before for this. Also gently bicycling their legs can help too.

Wind maybe but not constipation in a fully bf baby, I have a friend whose children only poo'd once a week or so while being exclusively bf.

Cooled boiled water won't hurt at all!

It would be unusual for a fbf baby to be constipated. I would take him to gp, for a medical opinion.

BF babies can go up to a week without pooing - I think it's because most of the breast milk gets used up (though could be talking rubbish here). DD2 used to poo every 2 days.
I found this on Kellymom.

BF babies don't need water because the fore milk is watery enough. I would just worry about such a young baby filling up on water when he should be having BM, ifyswim.

My bf baby went a week before pooing, then it was an explosion. GP said not to worry unless it went over a week. She settled into a routine of 2 times a week. Water won't harm though.
