Hi guys!
I’ve been weaning my 6 month old girl for a month now, she’s got CMPA and reflux so can’t eat a massive variety.
She’s taking so well to purees now I wanted to try lumpier or finger foods but really struggling for ideas,
Ideas please!?

If you want an tt to try finger food, brocolli or any fruit is a good start. Sweet potato wedges were a great hit here too.

If you want more family type meals, we’ve just had a dairy free roast dinner, I made the Yorkshires with almond milk and used Bisto Best gravy. Spag Bol is dairy free, just put in on the tray and put a long sleeved bib on the baby 🙂

Others things to try are eggy bread, smashed avocado on toast, salmon fish cakes, sardines on toast, hummus and veg sticks, smooth nut butter on slices of apple, these pizza fingers might be worth a try if you have a dairy free cheese.

And, have you found the MN Weaning section yet? That’s usually quite useful and the allergy section might be helpful too.

Might come back later if I can think of some more 🙂

Forgot to say, the brocolli, hummus and sardines are all high in calcium. If you make the fishcakes with tinned salmon, with bones, they are high in calcium too. For the toast, white bread is best at this age. I’d go for one that is fortified with calcium.

Ready break has added calcium too and yiu can add things to it like chopped banana or berries.

Dried figs are high in calcium as well and madpje a great finger food, if slightly sticky 🙂
