Reflux

Went to see the HV today and she said my 5 week old was showing signs of reflux (we thought this but wanted a second opinion and luckily my dd did what she usually does after feeding so the HV got to see it. She recommended seeing the GP and that they will probably prescribe infant gaviscon. Will this be something we use every feed? Also do you use it prior? Currently we're using infacol which I presume we would have to stop using but will gaviscon help with bringing up wind?

She has also started choking randomly after her feed which is horrendous, I can't take my eyes off of her. Sad

Finally, we had to change her milk and the HV said to give her water if she gets constipated, and that gaviscon can cause it- I forgot to ask how much water?

I have had exactly the same situation and DS (three weeks and 4 days old) is now taking infant gavison 6 feeds a day of 4oz. He is already less distressed and is sleeping better after feeds and being less sick only 8 feeds later.
The doc said to me to use it till his 8 week chevk up if I wanted, or try 3 weeks and see how he goes off of it. I chose 3 weeks
