Dream feed in bottle for EBF baby?

DC1 was exclusively breastfed and planning the same for DC2 due shortly. I tried a dream feed with DC1 but she never woke up enough to open her mouth and latch on.

I was speaking to a midwife and she mentioned that dream feeds are more effective with a bottle as the baby has to do less work, so for BF babies offer a bottle of expressed milk rather than try to feed directly.

Anyone tried this and had success? I have no issues expressing and will be going back to work so will be pumping to build up supply anyway.
