Tips for introducing bottle

Hello,

My DS is now 6weeks so I want to introduce the bottle so I can leave him with my husband if needed.

I am using expressed milk but am looking for some pointers on how to do introduce.

I tried yesterday with a calma bottle but seemed a bit complicated so I've also tried the number 1teat tommee tippee bottle.

He doesn't seem opposed to having the teat in his mouth but doesn't seem to be able to get the milk out or drink any of it.

I think I may have a fast milk supply I.e it squirts out like a fountain if he comes off in the beginning. I don't know if that makes a difference

thank you

Try the NUK bottles with latex teats. They're shaped a bit more like a nipple and they're the only kind my EBF son would take. Though honestly, be prepared for an uphill battle. I waited 6 weeks to start trying bottles and it took ages to find one he'd take and even now he won't always. EBF babies just prefer their mum's boob!

I had some problems with my EBF son taking a bottle when he was about 7 weeks, funnily enough the only brand he will take is Mam with the little flat teats, none of the brands designed to mimic a boob fooled him at all. I also moved up to a size 2 teat almost immediately as like you I have a very fast letdown. He will also only take it very warm so worth trying that??

I seem to be having some joy with the Mam bottles at the moment. She flat out refuses Tommee Tippee despite quite happily using them for the first 10 weeks or so 🙄

Mam is what our DS takes, quite warm.
