Dinner time mayhem...am I alone??

So last night was probably the worst dinner time I have ever experienced. Genuinely think I will have nightmares about it for a long time.

It doesn't matter what I do...I can't win. The cup is the wrong colour, the fork isn't hers, the beans were too orange!!! SERIOUSLY?? What does she want me to do?? Take the orangeness out?? Angry

DH just sat there laughing. But he doesn't have to deal it with all the time.

I feel like my DD excuses are just getting more and more ridiculous. How does she even think of them? Surely I can't be alone. I'd like to know what excuses other children come up with or just things they say at dinner time - it'll stop me going insane!!

whymum88 WE HEAR YOU!!

I genuinely think my DS spends the time he should be sleeping, coming up with ridiculous things to say at dinner time!! Yesterday he kicked off because there was hole in his spaghetti hoops!!!

Aw that's a shame, she's only saying ridiculous things because she can't yet verbalise what she's really feeling/thinking - so she's avoiding food, could she be teething, have a tummy upset?

Been there, feel your pain. My twins who are now 15 were always at it, like a sport. In the end I parked them with food and left himself to deal while I went for a shower - he didn't find it so funny after that.
