Hi all,
I am returning to work for 2 days a week in September when my baby will be 9 months. She is 7 months now and still breast fed on demand throughout the day and night. We are doing BLW and she has taken to it really well, but hasn't started swallowing anything yet, but will sip water at meal times.
I have worked two KIT days so far (7-5pm). I am pretty sure I have excess lipase in my milk as my LO refused the expressed milk I had left, except a small amount of milk I expressed just before leaving for work. All the milk smelt sour and tasted bitter even though they had been expressed at different times and stored correctly. She was offered food but didn't eat anything (normal), refused formula, but had sips of water throughout the day. So on both days she was starving by the time I returned home and was then on the breast every hour for the rest of the evening making up for it.
I don't mind the reverse cycling, but what does that mean for the other days when I am not working? I want to continue exclusively breast feeding until she is 1, but with expressed milk not an option, I am not sure what to do. I'm also not keen on having to express at work to keep up my supply if I am just dumping the milk afterwards.
Thank you
