How much milk regurgitation is normal?

My baby is 11 weeks old. He always brings up some of his feed, but 2 or 3 times a day he will bring up what seems like all of it. He's putting on weight (in fact is probably on the chinky side!) and is very happy and smiley, so I wasn't worried, but I brought it up at s baby group the other day and they said their babies hardly ever bring anything up! So now I am worried.

Do you think I should take him to the doctor? Or is this pretty normal and I'll look like an idiot?!

My LB use to bring up quite a bit of milk too after feeds. He has reflux though and it improved after giving gaviscon.
Is he taking big feeds that maybe his little tummy can't manage it all?
Usually if they are happy, gaining weight and producing plenty wet and dirty nappies they should be fine.

Thank you. I will mention to the GP next time I am there, rather than rush in now! And see if he will prescribe me gaviscon.

He is formula fed, so I'll try changing it and see how we get on.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

There is also Sma staydown milk and aptimal anti reflux - no idea if they're any good but I guess may be worth looking into?

My baby (21 weeks) is a "happy chucker". She always brings something back up and sometimes she brings up a LOT. Sometimes it's curdled and partially digested. Sometimes it's thin like watery milk. Some days are better than others. Some days we both go through three outfits. There's no real pattern except that she always brings up something at some point.

I'm pretty sure she doesn't have reflux as she doesn't seem uncomfortable. She's breastfed so it's unlikely to be a dairy intolerance, and her puking never seems better or worse when I avoid dairy myself.

But she's putting on weight well and seems perfectly happy. Throwing up her milk doesn't seem to phase her at all.

I'm not a professional but I just figured you might like hearing from someone else in the same situation.

My HV said some babies just puke more than others. We just got ones on the 90th centile for regurgitation!

Thanks SC! Sounds like we do have happy vommers! I've got some different formula to try tomorrow (worth a go!), but am not worrying too much. I wasn't worrying very much before - until the other mums I met made it sound unusual! X
