Breastfeeding and Chicco Next to me

Hi, I have checked google and cannot find anything!
I bought a chicco next to me crib so I could breast feed while the baby was in the crib and I was in my bed ... I came to do it last week and noticed their is a 2inch lip so I can't put my boob over it ... has anyone figured out how to be able to do this or is it not possible?
Baby is currently bed sharing but we have a memory foam mattress so I worry about him breathing if he turns his head into it 😳

I move my dd into bed to feed then put her back.

I folded a thin duvet and put it under the mattress, to raise it to the same level as the top of the lip. Attempted to position this at same level as my bed. Rolled up a thin blanket to place over the border.

Still ended up with the lip
Digging into me.

Bloody useless piece of crap. Use it as a bed guard in case baby rolled out. And so I could keep nappies and bits within arms reach.

Hoping to sell it eventually as its in pristine condition.

Would have worked well if baby was bottle fed I think, but I breast fed and fell asleep while feeding.

I have a bednest but have ended up co-sleeping with both of my DC because I couldn't figure out feeding over the side of the bednest without moving DD into our bed. Then it just seemed like a waste of time moving her back again because she's invariably wake up. So with DS we've attached it to the bed again but use it like Blazed to keep nappy supplies and a bottle of water. And as a bed guard!
