DS is 14 weeks now, he gained amazingly well for the first 10 weeks or so and has more than doubled his birth weight. However, it has been completely stagnant for 2 weeks now. He isn't that bothered about feeding doesn't seem to be a hungry baby and isn't breast orientated like dc1 was who would never refuse!. Should I be worried? He went from 2nd centile to about 40th but has slipped down to around 17% last week

I wouldn't be too worried. Weighing every 2 weeks is too frequently I think, once a month is fine unless there are concerns. You may find that if you weigh in 4 weeks time that the weight gain is fine.

Was he weighed on the same scales by the same person and have the scales been calibrated?

I have digital scales at home and yes same time same place

If you are weighing at home, I'd stop. There's no need to weigh a baby more than once a month and the scales are unlikely to be reliable enough to cause any concern over a blip like this.

I'd leave it at least 2 weeks before you get baby weighed again Smile

I just feel like he is really not very interested in feeding, he loves sucking his thumb so I am trying to offer a feed every couple of hours during the day and he wakes up 3 times from 7-7 generally so feeding him then but all feeds v short , 5-10 mins max.

Is he actively sucking during those feeds? Some babies take ages and others, like my DD are a 5 min quick feed type. Both types are perfectly normal Smile

The active sucking is really a couple of mins then shallow sucking. He totally know as what he is doing as he averaged 3/4 lb per week for the first 8 weeks! It seems like his weight gain has halted as his thumb sucking has kicked in but I am really trying to counter act by offering the breast frequently. It could just be a natural plateau but he just seems so uninterested. I couldn't get my dd off me for hours on end - it's so different

Again, it all sounds perfectly normal. If you would like some reassurance, have you tried calling one of the Bfing Helplines? Smile
