My lo seems to be very gassy at night. Her trumps can sound quite violent and seem to wake her up at night. She wriggles and starts to cry before letting out a big trump. Is there anything I can do to relieve her discomfort or is this another phase? She is my 2nd but dd1 was ff by this point as I had primary lactation failure with her so can't really compare the two. Dd1 was sensitive to lactose so we struggled with ff although colief helped. Dd2 is no where near as bad ' she has fractous evening but not every night and it's only for a couple of hours. Dd1 screamed 7 - 7 every day. Also, dd2 poops constantly. She's an excellent feeder and is gaining weight very well but still pooping almost constantly which makes me wonder if her little system is being overloaded?

I don't think her system is being overloaded, I've not heard of that before smile.

As for the amount of nappies, that too sounds perfectly normal. Some babies poo just once a day at this age, some poo up to 10 times a day and it can be anything in-between.

The trumping sounds normal too. Does she go back to sleep afterwards?

Some people find that bathing them in a Tummy Tub followed by some Tummy massage before bed helps. Letting her have some nappy free time in the day might help too. When she's unsettled in the evening, have you tried the Tiger in the Tree hold?

Sounds very normal for that age, my boy was very grunty and farty and generally uncomfortable at night from about 4-8 weeks. People recommended baths, bicycle legs, rubbing his tummy. It might have made a bit of difference but I think he just grew out of it in the end.

Our doctor recommended holding the baby in a position where you cross the legs at the ankles and hold them up to the tummy. We also used the tiger hold. I think both helped a bit but basically we just had to wait until she grew out of it.
