Could the Progesterone-only pill be making ds sick?

i need the guidance of the all-knowing MN (again!)

my GP has put me on the Progesterone only pill, it's apparently safe for bf-ers but since i started taking it, ds has become quite poorly, vomiting badly; refusing feeds (very unlike him!); sore bum; inconsolable crying...i've taken him to see the nurse at the surgery and she can't find anything up with him, but she said it might be my diet. ok, my diet isn't the best, but nothing has changed except the fact that i'm now on the pill!

any advice would be really welcome! TIA

I'd stop taking it for a month and use condoms and see how he reacts personally

interesting....my ds was like this and i was on prog. only pill. never thought of that, must be worth a try!

Your diet wouldn't make the baby vomit or make your baby ill....what a daft thing for the nurse to say.

The obvious thing would be the pill, but I have to say, I have never heard of these symptoms being associated with the pill.

Perhaps the doc can check his symptoms - crying incosolably, refusing feeds, vomiting.....these are worth a medical investigation, surely?

Tiktok - both the practise nurse and the HV have told me that my diet could be making ds ill. the HV said that because i was drinking acidy fruit juice (i thought vit C would boost my immune system) i was giving him heartburn and making him sick. i emailed the La Leche League but they didn't agree....i'm getting really confused with all the conflicting advice the nurse said to go back if he wasn't getting any better but he seems ok today.....

Urban, the extra info in your latest post only proves they do not have a clue - heartburn from your fruit juice, I ask you....how stupid.

yeah i did kinda think but, y'know....panicky new mum and all! he seems a lot happier today - i'm not going to stop the pill just yet, although if he gets whingey again i may have to, just to see if it makes a difference.
