When should 'food' appear in nappy?

I fed my 6mo a few spoonfuls of well-mashed carrots at 11am. He's just done a (slightly runnier than usual) poo with some of the carrots in it.

From what I remember from weaning DS1 I was only expecting to see the carrots again tomorrow.

Does this seem normal?

Yeah it's normal probably but inspecting his poo for food is a bit odd
