If you be and give one bottle of formula a day...

When did you start giving the formula? As in what age, and what time of day?

Dc2 due in 3 months, still be bottle refusing ds 15 months, only overnight which I am stopping soon.

I am thinking of mix feeding to some degree, couldn't express any amount with ds so thinking formula, possibly at 'bedtime'.

I think.I missed the boat with giving ds a bottle so all being well with bf will try Dc2 earlier, but how early is OK?

Any other advice please? Ds bf well, but constantly. Cant see how I can do that again as I will have ds to look after too.

Well it's made for newborns so there is no "too early". Introduce it whenever you want.

By 6 weeks though you're gambling a bit with them rejecting it. I introduced the odd bottle at 2 weeks both times just to give myself options down the road.

I followed the advice not to give a dummy or bottle before 6 weeks last time, and failed with both.

I made that mistake with DD1 too and she was a huge bottle refuser

Thought I'd cracked it with DD2 giving bottles really early on but now having taken them she is also totally refusing!!

I'd say the earlier the better maybe and be consistently giving it at set time each day

Good luck!

Introduced a bottle at bedtime at about 5 weeks. Continued mixed feeding until 10 months.

We introduced a bottle feed at 2 months and it was refused until about 4 months, was on 3 daytime bottles by 6 months

I introduced expressed milk in a bottle at 3 weeks and do it every day (just a couple of oz) to keep dd3 used to it. Dd1 and 2 (twins) refused bottles so I'm also determined to crack it this time to get more flexibility to go out!

I'd love to give ebm but it took.me 3 days to get 4 Oz, after getting dribbles every day for weeks before that.
