DD up every hour with wind! Sleep deprived, need help!!

Dd is 14 weeks and has always been quite a sicky baby but the recently the wind and the sick have been getting much worse. It's both ends and she really struggles with it. I am exhausted and so is my dp.
She is straightening her whole body and sort of arching and writhing around screaming. She's very strong and it's sometimes impossible to bend her when she does this. Eventually she farts or burps but is usually so distressed that the only way to calm her is to feed her again and then the whole cycle starts again.
It's really difficult to wind her after night feeds as she goes to sleep and is really floppy and nothing happens.
I need to get her checked for tongue tie as I don't think her latch is quite right. I can hear and feel her taking the air in when she feeds. She doesn't look like she has tt but want it checked anyway.
If it's not that though what can we do? Is colief or infacol any good? I've heard mixed things. Or do I need to get on some proper reflux medication? Cut out dairy?!
All advice greatly appreciated, I need sleep!

Yes to trying infacol before every feed! Give it a go

Thanks, I spoke to a hv today who just said to try gripe water and infacol and if they don't work then try colief. Don't really like the idea of trying lots of different medications. There's so much conflicting evidence. I just ended up buying gripe water but even that has E numbers in it.

my ds was very like this and he was put on baby gaviscon as he had acid reflux, gripe water and infacol made no difference but once he had the gavison which you mix in to his milk he was a completely different child. Something to consider.

My dd was like that but with other symptoms too. Turned out she has silent reflux and cow's milk protein allergy. Do read upon both of those just to rule them out.

I had this too and went straight to colief because I'd heard it works when the others don't. It definitely worked for me. When I went to pharmacy to buy the second bottle the chemist suggested I try something weaker because colief is strong. There was no way I was messing around with a working formula though. Good luck with the gripe water but if you're not getting anywhere do try colief. It worked quite quickly too, I think I saw a difference that night.

Thanks for the replies.
seven what we're your ex's other symptoms? My dd is having a better night tonight thankfully so I'm thinking along the lines of it being food related.

My ds is 7 weeks old, and he does/did this. For us infacol before every feed has worked to help with the wind. I wouldn't worry about taking lots of medication. From what I read it's not something that gets digested, it's just something that helps make the pockets of air more easy for them to pass.

However, we do also think our son has acid reflux, and we've been given ranitidine for this which we started giving to him yesterday. This has meant he's more settled tonight and isn't making much noise at all. But it's early days obviously!

Also, this is a weird tip, but we find he is worse at night if he hasn't pooed much or at all in the day. We've found he only poos when he is more upright, and he have a bouncer which seems to be something he will poo and fart for England when he's in it. It has an irate function and we stick that on, and he watches these high contrast YouTube videos for newborns for 10 15 mins so he doesn't get bored and he will always poo and fart.

Vibrate, not irate!

Thanks for the tips! I am thinking it's caused by something I'm eating. She's been a bit better today. Also slept normally last night too, which was a huge relief. Hopefully I've eaten things that agree with her today. Judging from the last few days I'm guessing it's either chocolate, cream or strawberries that gave her such awful wind.

We have Infacol before every feed for weeks, then I just got fed up and went to a cranial osteopath - job done!

DD was like this if I ate anything too windy. Sprouts, beans etc.

I changed my diet and she slowly improved. It is tough, but it does pass (as does the wind).

The symptoms kind of change for us.
Main ones: unsettled/ lots of crying, lots of trapped wind, needing to poo but not going, sometimes green poo or mucosy poo, gulping sick, choking on sick, needing to be swing around to calm, Never being laid flat (screams), coughing, feeding little and often. She's much better since being given ranitidine for her reflux and since I've cut out all milk products and soya from my diet. She's still not 'easy' though. Also lots of tummy massage and leg cycling to help with the wind/poo.

Cranial osteopath? I'll be googling that...
After another relatively peaceful night I do think it must be my diet. I've avoided the three foods mentioned above and not had hardly any dairy either.
Sometimes I think she could have reflux and others I'm not sure. It's difficult to say. She arches her back and goes red in the face. She won't fall asleep on her back usually but on a normal night she will stay asleep once transferred from my arms to her cot. If she has bad wind though there's no chance of back sleeping!
