I know it's been asked a zillion times, sorry. I've been bfing exclusively for 9 months, want to be able to give a bottle or cup from time to time for a break. I am planning to carry on bf until i go back to work when dd will be a year old. I am happy bf and she loves it, just would like to not have to always bf when i'm out and about, and to let dh help. Also would like to introduce gradually so it's not a big jolt when i go back to work full time.
We tried a bottle - avent and nuk latex when she was 4 months and she hated it and screamed so we didnt push it. Occasionally i offer her a magic cup with ff and she plays with it but wont really drink. if i've tried to offer it at a bf time she cries and pushes it away. Same with dh. She will drink water readily from a tommee tippee trainer cup or an ordinary open cup but spills lots. She has formula milk on her breakfast cereal and doesn't mind it.
I know the idea is replace one feed at a time but which feed? Is there one feed that is more likely to be a success in anyone's experience? I'm not fussed if its a bottle or a cup but open cup seems a bit messy.
Can someone just give me an easy peasy breakdown of how they did it in a similar situation?
