22m DS refusing milk in sippy cup

I know, I know, I was supposed to replace my son's beloved bottle with a sippy cup when he turned 1, but I am a bad mother who took the easy way out Blush...

He's nearly 23 months old now and not very interested in food, so I thought it was time to ditch the bottles so he could reduce his milk intake (up until now he was drinking about 500ml of milk per day). So on Saturday we decided to replace his bottles with sippy cups. First day went ok and he had some (though not as much) milk. But yesterday and today he had zero milk. Refuses it and just asks for water.

My heart is breaking because 1) I know how much he loved his bottle, and 2) he needs calcium and he's not getting any! He doesn't like yogurt but will have cheese.

What do I do? Toughen up and carry on? Or introduce the bedtime bottle again, so that at least he's getting 200ml of milk per day??

Sure you'll get some better advice from other posters but I don't see the harm in a bottle once or twice a day. As long as he can use a cup for water and isn't taking more than the recommended amount of milk I don't think it's a bad thing.

It's fine for hI'm not to have morning/ evening milk. If he doesn't want it then leave it.
