I've posted on weaning but think it might be better here

My DD loves strong flavours. I think because she has been on nutrimigen which tastes foul.

She like houmous
Smoke salmon
Feta
Strong cheese
Salami

Any suggestions on other quick finger food.

Not sure smoked salmon or salami are such good ideas because of the high salt content.

What about spices to create strong flavours? Indian spices? Poached salmon? Cheesy cod? Herby potatoes?

DD loves curry. She ate a lot of dhal when weaning. She's 2 now and some of her favourites are carrot, ginger and lentil soup, vegetable or chicken curry and garlic bread. She also likes sweet potato wedges baked in the oven with smoked paprika.

Indian food Grin
DS loves string food- good to keep it up through toddler/ early childhood so they don't get too bland in their tastes.

Marmite! But yes be careful with salty foods as you need to keep salt under 1g per day (0.4g sodium) for babies under one. I think that the portions of smoked salmon and salami would be so small it wouldn't matter but check packaging. Cheese and white bread are apparently surprising for it.

Citrus fruits might be good, and berries. Cut up cherry tomatoes and basil leaves.

I agree with spices, you could fry or bake some chicken fingers marinated in spicy or garlicky coating (avoid salt) and then eat them cold.

Salmon is just fine - it's smoked! Salmon that's high in salt

One of my DD's (11mo) favourite meals is chilli con carne. I make it with onion, red pepper, tomato, minced beef, red kidney beans, but I do use a jar of home pride chilli sauce. She loves it! Are two bowls of it the other day. She also likes chicken korma, garlic bread - quite strong flavours. I just tend to feed her whatever we are having for dinner!! She once had a lick of my mango and lime chicken from Nandos and was smacking her lips Grin

My DD's favourite finger foods at the moment are sliced strawberries and mango chunks - not all that exciting, but a bit more interesting than banana or cucumber! She like sticks of red pepper too
