8 mo DS has just had both bottom teeth come through. He seems to think my nipples are teething rings and keeps biting me when feeding. It's really sore!! How do I make him stop?!!

DD is the same age and took to biting me shortly after her bottom teeth came through. I think she was dropping a feeds and mostly it was a sign (for her) that she wasn't interested in feeding.

Don't overreact (not always easy) but try calmly removing him from the breast and popping him on the floor for 30sec before trying again. You need a clear but gentle signal that it's not ok to bite.

What can't says...

Also mine bites after she's had her fill so I quickly unlatch once she's just messing around suckling to avoid a nip. She rarely bites when really feeding.

Dd is also more bitey when teething, and I would pop her on the floor or decide she was done. Effective in my experience.
