I'm DS is almost 4mths. Despite what 'they' say about bf-ing and losing weight, I reckon I've put weight on as I'm permanently hungry.
I would like to start running again but worried it may affect my supply/taste of my milk. There's some info on kellymoms but was wondering what your experiences are and if its led to any problems?

Your supply will be well established now. Exercise is fine, just eat enough calories and drink lots.

Have u tried a buggyfit class? Just watch out about pelvic floor - a buggyfit instructor (or similar) will be able to advise u. I'm not an instructor but I love the class - but then was never a runner so ignore me smile xx

I went back to the gym when DS was about 8 weeks old, didn't make any difference to my milk supply. I now go 4-5 times a week and am still BFing him at nearly 18 months.

I hated exercising while breastfeeding. I did it when they were as empty as possible to minimise leakage.

I've already run at 4 weeks - I had to pump bothe boobs first and use two bras to keep things secure! Hubby fed DS some of the expressed milk after I came back, I've heard that exercise can make milk taste a bit weird, but I also hyperlactate, so I didn't want my supply to increase as a result of expressing.

Its a right faff about, but I love my running and I won't be BFing forever, so I'm just going to carry on like this and look forward to having my small, comfy boobs back one day, I hate these ridiculous, awkward melons, they look fake, prevent me from wearing my pre-pregnancy clothes & weigh a tonne!
