Feeding

My baby girl is nearly 4 months old and has been draining 6oz for the past 4 weeks every 4hrs and she's been very content. She now fusses around with every bottle and cries for another every 3 and half hours. Is this normal? I don't mind being patient with her I just can't help but think that maybe she wants something more x

Yes, she does want more, she wants feeding every 3.5 hours instead of 4. It's nothing to worry about at all. Just to put your mind at ease, she should have roughly 2.5 floz per 1lb of body weight in 24 hours, so a 10lb baby should take roughly 25floz. Does that sound about what she's on?

Thank you for that info. She's 12lbs and having about 24oz per day. 6oz every 3.5-4hrs. She sleeps for about 11 hours every night so it would be difficult to get any more down her.

All sounds fine to me. Are you still worried? Have you read the MN weaning info? Smile

It's common to have a fussy period around 4 months along with a growth spurt
. I think the advice is to offer more milk. More often or larger amounts. I'm currently going through the 4 month regression and it's tough going. Doesn't necessarily mean they are ready for any solids. But having said that every baby is different Smile
