Infant feeding

4 months old and started refusing the bottle

My dd was a staunch bottle refuser from introduction at 12 weeks until about 7 months old. So this time ds has had a bottle of formula at least once a day but these past few days he has been refusing from me, my mum and dh.

Urgh, I love bf but I just ended up feeling so trapped last time as dd would only feed to sleep. At least ds will settle being rocked or patted so can be soothed by someone other than me, for now at least.

So im thinking perseverance. Maybe try and sneak the bottle in when he is sleepy? Maybe try coaxing him with ebm? or am I flogging a dead horse and he will just bottle feex again when he sees fit Angry

My dd started refusing a bottle at around the same age (we were only using bottles very occasionally, for ebm). She only started accepting it again once we introduced a sippy cup of water alongside solids at 5.5 months.

My dd recused bottles when I tried to get her used to them before go I g back to work when she was 5 months. I was so worried, but her childminder managed to give her the bottle no problem. I think if baby knows you around d, or will be back soon, they hold out for bf.
