More night feeds.....help!

Hiya - currently feeling exhausted. A couple of weeks ago, my dd was only waking once in the night, and the time of this was gradually getting later. But now in the last couple of weeks she has started waking up at least twice and sometimes three times for feeds. Is it just a growth spurt or am I doing something wrong? She seems to snack a lot during the day rather than having bigger feeds - so I'm thinking she perhaps isn't getting enough so wanting more at night?

Any tips anyone? Anyone else had something similar?

Thanks

How old is she?

Growth spurt, or teething would me my first guesses.

She's coming up for 12 weeks - so hopefully not teething just yet??!

My 10 week old is doing exactly the same thing!! He's been a great feeder, but has just started rejecting my right boob, so I assumed he wasn't getting enough, which was why he was snacking, but perhaps it's just one of those things.

God, I love this site! There's always someone with the same problem. It doesn't help, but it makes you feel much better, doesn't it??! If anything changes, I'll let you know - and I'd like to know your progress too. x

sjc - there is a growth spurt around 12 weeks, other thing might be that she gets distracted during daytime feeds as there's so much else going on. How often is she feeding during the day? My DS is 14 wks and I try and offer bf as much as poss during the day so that he's 'tanked up' for the night (still wakes once or twice a night tho, hey ho )

Thanks for the help. She still seems to be waking twice in the night - and they generally are some of the bigger feeds that she has. She definitely does get a bit distracted during the day - I do try to make sure she gets enough in the day, and particularly in the late afternoon evening, she seems to want to feed every 1 1/2 - 2 hours - so I always hope that gets her tanked up! But doesn't seem to make any difference. I'm wondering whether I should move her into her big cot, as maybe the moses basket is too small now??

Anyone got any other tips for reducing night feeds???

I'd like some of those!! My ds 21 weeks old was waking up once in the night until a few weeks ago - now will wake 3-5 times for a feed!! Have started solids, but I think this will take time to kick in as it is only a little baby rice at the moment. I agree that it is so tiring as you get used to not feeding so much in the night..
