Perfect Prep filter light

The warning light to change the filter on my perfect prep machine came on about 4 weeks ago. It's a solid light. I was expecting it to flash and refuse to work when I need to change it but it's been a long time now. Is that what will happen? Should I have changed it already? Thank you!

It should flash when you need to change it. Have you got a new filter ready to go? How quickly it starts flashing depends on how much you use it rather than a set amount of time.

Yes, the light means time to change the filter. I waited around the same amount of time as you before changing it as, at the time, it was really hard to find stock of the filter cartridge. But then I normally fill the machine with cool, boiled water, so I wasn't too worried. I would change it asap and press the change filter button on the side of the machine (I forgot to do this and kept wondering why the light was still on).

Mine has been like that for 6 months! Don't think you actually need to change til it starts flashing, it's just a "pre warning"

Cool thanks everyone. I have a new filter. Didn't wanna change it until I had to as they are hard to get hold of so worried I might not get one in 3 months. dd is fully formula fed so gets used about 6 times a day so surprised it hasn't started flashing yet. I might change it anyway.

I just wanted to shed some light on the perfect prep filter light. The light comes on automatically after 3 months of the machine being on. This doesn't take into consiteration your usage in those 3 months. The guidelines is based on 9 ounces 6 times a day for 3 months. After which the filter will not be at is optimum. If you use the machine far less than this then just apply the logice and you'll know when to change it yourself as opposed to adhering to these guidelines which are hardwired into the machine.
