Do any other breast feeding ladies out there get absolutely ravenous in the middle of the night???

tinymeteor Wed 21-Jan-15 05:46:19

Yes yes yes. Box of Frusli bars in the bedside table at all times, and a gallon of water on the side.

Yes!!!! For me it's rice crackers and cold herbal tea smile

Oh definitely everytime I'm up feeding it's awful! Crackers/rich tea and pints of water!!! I thought you were meant to lose weight quicker by breastfeeding?? Not at this rate!

DS is 1 and still bf and I still eat in the night!
When he was newborn DP used to buy me a pack of rocky bars every other day to eat in the night... Kept them in my knicker drawer! smile

I could generally tell when DD was having a growth spurt because I'd suddenly want to eat ALL THE FOOD. Rice pudding is a goodun

Dd sleeps through the night now but before that oh my goodness yes! Used to eat ginger biscuits in the night - a continuation of pregnancy!

BiscuitsofYum Wed 21-Jan-15 13:13:17

I always thought you were meant to loose some of the pregnancy weight.. However every time I sit down to feed I need food and a mass amount of water..

mrsmilkymoo Wed 21-Jan-15 14:24:25

I think I heard somewhere that the weight loss benefits really kick in between three and six months. However, dd is five months now and I'm yet to see this...probably because I am eating far more than I used to and indulging in more frequent hot chocolates!

Bellyrub1980 Wed 21-Jan-15 20:25:02

Oh god this is making me hungry!!

squizita Wed 21-Jan-15 20:57:54

Not hungry but twice as thirsty as a day feed makes me. I'll down 2 pints of water easy.

mrsmugoo Wed 21-Jan-15 21:53:35

Would get through entire packets of chocolate digestives in the night!

JuniDD Wed 21-Jan-15 21:55:26

Yep, Dp used to make me bowls of porridge. Now I just drink water or have cereal with warm milk if I can't make it through.

4 week old ds and I also have a box of frusli bars and 2 pints of water by my bed

CoolCat2014 Thu 22-Jan-15 19:02:45

Yes! Think I got through a loaf of bread a day during the newborn stage!

Honeybear30 Thu 22-Jan-15 19:05:58

I had this to but it wore off at about ten weeks I'd say. Not the thirst though, oh so thirsty allllll the time.

Weight loss...I've been losing so much weight that I've had to actively eat more. I weigh less now than before I was pregnant. My DS is huge though, I reckon he must be taking a lot from me. He's 91st centile.
