Infant feeding

Is it just me or are nipple pads a bit s**t?

They just scrunch up in my bra every time I pull the cup back up after feeding. I've used the Boots ones and some Avent ones that came with a bottle/pump/steriliser kit I bought. Both have a rubbish, very small adhesive strip that doesn't do a great job holding them in place. Or am I just doing it wrong?

Yes! Thankfully I can get away without them now but every brand I tried was crap. None of them stuck and I'd have to try and rearrange them straight again after every feed when I was out. At night I would just used old crop tops and quite often they just fell off when I took my top up.....I used all the expensive brands too but they were all as bad as each other.

Yes they are - crap and sweaty! In the end I used washable fabric ones which were so much more pleasant. Thankfully I didn't need them past the first few months, though :)

Glad it's not just me!

Some are better than others, I found the Johnson and Johnson ones to be the best.

I found Lansinoh to be the best brand.

Thanks for the suggestions 5madthings and Tonicandgin, I might try those brands.

I mainly used the Lansinoh ones and they were the best of a bad bunch but still scrunched up......

The disposables irritated my skin, but the washables weren't absorbent enough, so I used both together. It was annoying but by about 12 weeks the leakage mainly settled down.

Yes and they itch so badly I thought I had thrush! I tuck some old towel/flannel down my bra now, with winter woollies and my usual band t shirt and jeans no one can tell.

I found the Johnson's ones are fantastic small and thick. Don't peek out your bra like the rest. You can only buy them in big boots though they come in a pink box :)

So that's two votes for Johnsons. I have a big Boots near me, I'll look out for those next time .

Lansinoh ones were the best for me! I was sooo pleased to leave all that behind when the time came though, so many things we girls aren't warned about!!

Little lamb bamboo reusables are very nice. Hated disposables... Got all sweaty and bunched up!

another vote for little lamb bamboo re-useable lovely and silky soft, not smelly or sweaty like disposables but not for heavy leakers! best disposables are lansinoh, even if they're a bit ££

Lansinoh here too! Ran out of them last week & asked DH to get me another pack. He found only Tomee Tippee. These are definitely much worse than Lansinoh on the sticking & scrunching problem. Can't wait to be done with the night feeds - which is the only time I need to use them.

Lansinoh are the best. They are very sticky.

Yes they are shit! I have to use nappies in my bra as I'm like a cow in a milking parlour Blush

All the ones i've tried are terrible but i'm too tight to splash out on more expensive ones. I've already had to splash out on an electric pump and new bras.

Lansinoh were the best for me. Used lenny lamb washable pads too but found they leaked a bit (better by about 10 months when leaking started to calm down for me)

Another vote for Lanisoh. Though the other day I fashioned some from one of those disposable bed mats you use in labour (it was an emergency!). Now THEY were itchy Smile

I use washables too, little lamb and Boots own. Ll ones are more discreet but both nicer than wearing what feels like a sanitary towel in your bra! I don't leak a lot so they do the job for me.
