Fructose malabsorption and formula

Does anyone know of any formula that doesn't contain fructose? Is it available to buy?

We are reasonably confident that DH has fructose malabsorption. When he cut out fructose, his IBS type symptoms stopped. Occasionally he's slipped up and they come back.

I wonder whether 12 week old DS has the same condition, but the evidence is very patchy indeed. He seemed to have a bad tummy and horrible explosive poos on formula. He's been ebf for 2 weeks and has been much better. Yesterday he had some horrible poos again and DH was unwell too - on hunting through the recycling it turns out we'd been drinking normal lemonade not diet.

I found mixed feeding more convenient but don't want to make my baby ill.

I thought formula contained lactose, not fructose. It could be an issue with cows milk protein rather than the sugars in the formula

GP and HV today said that there's no formula that avoids fructose (although I suppose you're right that I don't know how much is in there). If it was CMP wouldn't that make my breast milk problematic too?

Having weighed DS today I've started him back on formula - Hipp organic that we've never tried before.

Thank ilovepowerhoop, I'd been suspicious of coconut oil but I think actually it's coconut milk that's the problem.
