What to wear to bed when bf -leaky boobs!?

What do you wear to bed?! Have some comfy bras and Primark pj bottoms. But my norks move around when I sleep and breast pad ends up in different place to my nipple, hence my bra getting saturated. Also breast pads getting saturated too, esp on the lucky nights DD goes 5 hours between feeds or doesn't take a full feed as she's too sleepy. Multiple breastpads?

Or do I resign myself to extra bras and sheets to wash....

I used to use the potty training mat things ( absorbent sheet that you lay on) they're in the nappy aisle at the supermarket, can be thrown away after so no sheets to wash!

What breast pads are you using? You can get cloth ones that are much larger (think small plate) that way even if they move around you are likely still covered?

Have you tried the Lansinoh breast pads? They were the best disposable ones I tried ( i couldn't find a reusable one that could cope with my deluge in the early days). I use two per boob if I'm expecting a bit of engorgement. It's so annoying when your baby sleeps through but your boobs do not!

I don't wear bra at night - I have a giant muslins (more like cloths, big ones) that I hold against the other boob when feeding, or just generally wrap around me when feeling a bit leaky… I find this comfier than wearing bras and pads in bed (as you say, they move around)

It will probably settle down some, as well - still early days. And when baby has more of a routine as to when they feed at night (or not at all if you're lucky!) your boobs will "learn" that routine and less likely to leak at other times.

It's all a bit hard to imagine at this point...!

I wear a vest top with a large muslin folded up underneath as I hate sleeping in a bra. It works ok, sometimes soak through to my top but not the sheets.

H & feeding vest with either a pad or muslin. And a light cardigan if necessary.
But yeah I just resign myself to daily washing.

I was going to ask the same question Zara (my DD is 6 weeks).

Currently I wear a crop-top type bra with breastpads. I keep two spare pairs of breastpads by the bed and change after each feed. Some nights when I'm particularly soaking I fold muslin squares and stuff into my bra at night.

Bedmats are good, but expensive. With previous children I've slept on a towel and no bra, but that's once things are more settled. I would end up sleeping on a soaking wet towel (and so getting cold) at the moment.

While on the subject - how many breastpads are you using per day?. I'm on DC4 and have always breastfed, but don't remember being this soaking all of the time. One pair of pads just about lasts between feeds (2-3 hours ish) day or night. Fresh pads after each feed but by the time I next come to feed they are already soaking wet. I'm therefore using tons of breastpads!

Maybe I'm lucky but I'm only using 1-2 pairs a day, and a muslin at night. No leaks so far. I do feel like I am quite leaky though. Using bamboo washable pads which seem miles better than the disposable ones I used with dc1.

I wear a vest top, with breast pads stuck inside it. I find my boobs don't leak if there's no pressure on them, so just need to make sure the pad is in the right place when DD is feeding. I sleep on a towel also to catch any little extra drips.

Towel also, when very leaky a facecloth in the bra worked great.

I wore a vest top with a soft built in support then lined it with a folded hand towel I looked daft but it worked well!

Love the muslin idea!! Will try this tonight! I have millions of them.... Was expecting a lot more spit up etc this time that hasn't eventuated

Weebairn I have the bamboo breast pads you recommended and they are soooo comfy but I soak them through at night and then they get cold!!

For disposables I'm using Lansinoh ones as anything else chafes my nips and aren't absorbent enough. Hate how the get bunched up in my bra/under my boob during a feed though

I'm going through about 2-3 pairs in the day and 1 at night - I should change more regularly at night ie 4 pairs but I'm tired and lazy and the rustling of the wrappers on the Lansinoh ones wakes up baby!

I wear cheapy sports bras from tesco- not pretty but soft and comfy and vaguely keep the breast pads in place. I'm so jealous of friends that don't leak much, I must have spent a fortune on breast pads in the first 6 months!
I'm afraid face cloths and muslins aren't enough for me- I need a waterproof backing or I just soak through (unless I shoved about 10 in my bra and looked like Nora batty). Nothing worse than waking up in a puddle

I've heard good things about wool pads, but they're quite pricey.

I used bamboo breast pads which I found much better than disposable ones as far as leakage went. I also slept on a towel which served the dual purposes of absorbing any leaks and catching any sick as ds2 was quite refluxy and would often bring a bit back up...

Oh and if you press firmly on your boob with the heel of your hand, that minimises leaks- useful in the night, I tend to do that to the other boob when beginning a feed

I tuck a terry cloth in the top of my nightie! It seems to work pretty well although saying that, this morning my sheets were a bit damp.

I'm 14 weeks in now and finding leakage far less of an issue during the day - at first I was wearing washable breast pads together with disposables as there was so much, but now that has stopped altogether. I found using disposables next to my skin irritated me, but with a washable pad in between it was ok. The washable ones alone just weren't enough though. Now it's just nights that I need some extra padding!

I always wear a bra at night since bf!! With breast pads for about the first 2-3 -months. Wear a vast on top & ps bottoms. I also do the muslin thing at times but rarely now.

I wear a tight vest and ... maxi pads. As in knicker pads! Not round but stay in place.

I remember cutting a tiny baby disposible nappy in half and wearing half on each side. have also used cut in sanitary towels.

Try secret support vests from M&S to help pads etc stay in place
