Help me stop breastfeeding my toddler

My dd is 16 months and we've been very luckily to bf this long with no issues. We've reduced feeds now so she has cow's milk during the day and evening and just one bf in the morning unless she decides to be a terror and bf during the night
Thing is, I'm now ready to stop. I just don't know how to cut this last feed and what to expect if I don't offer her the boob if she wants it at night.
Can anyone help?

for the last morning feed - you will just have to use milk, food, TV, books, toys and distract, distract, distract...it will take a couple of mornings (maybe up to a week?), I guess, but she will eventually forget about it.

as for night-wakings, do you have a partner who can take over night wakings for a week or so?

again, she is young enough to forget about the boob after a while.

When I stopped bf dd, she was 26months so a bit older than yours.

We explained to her that I was in pain on my breast and that the dr said we needed to stop the bf.

And then, for the first few days she was getting 5mins of bf (timed) in the evening, then decreased it over 2 weeks (4mins, then 3...) and we replaced bf with cuddles (really only works if you co sleep).

The transition was quite gentle for dd who was a boob monster Grin
