What could be wrong with my boobs?

Hi everyone,

Had a horrible time breastfeeding ds (now 3) due to pain from cracked nips, but also a general sort of pain that was never really explained - not mastitis though. I gave up after 7 weeks.

My nips are still sore when touched by anyone except me, and am now 34 weeks and desperate to bf this baby. Anyone got any ideas on why I am still sore?

At the time, GP thought it might be thrush. Could I still have this?

whatwho, havent a clue what the problem couldve been.but there is creams you can get to prepare your nipples for bf.cant remember the name of it,but your midwife or hv might know what it is.

could the pain have been blocked ducts due to wrong positioning?i used to get a stabbing pain in my boob, itwent from my nipple to the middle of my boob inside.it was a blocked duct,i ended up with a white spot on my nipple (was very horrible and it popped!!!sorry if tmi!!!)

hope you get it sorted and can bf your new baby!good luck with the birth aswell!!

my nips were tender from conception till delivery. no exaggeration. then bf went swimmingly. it sounds like the first time round you had a problem with latch. get to a bf group before you deliver so you already have a support network when your baby gets here. will come in handy if you need your latch checked out early on and to get general support later on.
