Cow and gate or aptimal with reflux

Hi all,
So my lo has silent reflux and has been on aptamil milk with gaviscon my GP advised changing her milk as she was very windy and unsettled, I know that cow and gate and aptimil are meant to be the same but after using them both I have to disagree the cow and gate seems much creamier and thicker it even blocked the teat a few times, but lo seems to like it, has anyone else experienced both milks??

My daughter had cow and gate. You are right it is thick and blocks the teat but my daughter used to puke it out like a fountain (literally) don't know why. What about s ma.? My youngest is breast fed so ive got no idea about milk anymore

Dd had reflux. I heard aptimal and cow & gate were the same too, so we chose c&g as it's the cheaper of the two. Are you using the cow & gate 'comfort' milk? This is what we used and we noticed a MASSIVE improvement in dd's reflux compared to using the regular formula.

dS2 has silent reflux I changed to aptimil anti reflux, it helps but made him sooooo constipated it wasn't worth it. Went back to normal milk and got him on some decent medication (omeprazole) and weaned him off the gaviscon. Things aren't perfect but better. My GP gave us a prescription milk called Enfamil AR I didn't use it yet but heard its better than the shop bought ones. Feel free to PM if you have any questions reflux sucks :(

Hi all thanks for the replies, no we are not using comfort milk just the 1st milk as she is already on gaviscon that does seem to be doing something she seems to like the cow and gate and doesn't guzzle it down as quick as the aptimil but I suppose it will take a few days before I know if it's making a difference?

Thanx

Have you looked at the symptoms for cows milk protein intolerance? We were in exactly the same situation and in the end went back to the gp and were eventually put on nutramigen then neocate and they have made a huge difference. Also have they been checked for a tongue tie?
