I would really appreciate some advice.

My 14 month old is still breastfed - he refuses a bottle or a cup. He feeds to nap/sleep and a lot during the night.

Yesterday evening he started biting really hard and refusing to feed. He was totally exhausted but just screamed for hours, I tried rocking him, singing to him etc. I even got the other DC out of bed and went and bought a bottle incase that would work but had no luck. He eventually fell asleep after I wking him around the living room in the pushchair for an hour.

During the night he fed in his sleep as normal.

He is biting and refusing again this morning. He woke up at 5am and is tired and crying but just bites me. Again I've tried a bottle and a cup but he is refusing both.

He has 4 teeth on the top and 4 on the bottom. His top and bottom back teeth are half way through.

I'm really at a loss about what to do. He's sobbing his little heart out Sad he's had some calpol incase it's teething pain but it's made no difference. I'm worried he might get dehydrated too, he's taken some liquid from a spoon but not much.

Anbesol liquid! Rub it on his wee sore gums. My 15month DD is struggling with bf and her teeth too. She will take a cup, but she will drink anything if I give her a straw, worth a try? Also, can you give him plenty juicy fruit, melon, oranges, etc. for liquid and maybe make up his food with extra milk - cheese sauces and the like? Yogurt is another winner here. Good luck.

I was going to say is he ready for self weaning? But it sounds more like he's poorly for something. Is he eating ok? Has he got ulcers? Hand foot and mouth?

I will get some teething gel for him - and also straws. He's still crying and throwing himself around, he's just so tired bless him.

He's been unwell for weeks ( we are waiting for a pead referral) he's had tonsillitis, hand foot and mouth, viral infections etc but the last few days had been back to his normal self.

I just spent half an hour expressing a few tea spoons worth of milk by hand (I don't have a pump) and he's just knocked it straight out of my hand and spilt it.

Today has been awful. Lots of sobbing from DS. I bought him teething gel, new cups and bottles (and straws!) but nothing's helped. My boobs are so sore and leaky. In upset incase he has stopped for good too. I really don't know how I am going to get through another night of him crying.

No chance he has a sore ear is there? Thats what upset ds2 last month ehen he got bitey, he had pressure behind the eardrum which eventually burst and he had antibiotics.

Nurofen has been the only thing that worked for us for teething. The anti inflammatory properties had much better effect than just painkillers.

Because of the biting I would think it's more teeth coming through. The teething gels didn't work for us so have ended up using Ashton powders.
