Weight gain slowed down in ebf 4mo

Just had my LO weighed and he has had really slow weight gain over the last month. He is ebf and sometimes has a bottle of ebm (just to get him familiar with bottles).

He weighed 6lb8oz at birth, lost 5% weight then quickly gained, going from 9th percentile to 25th.

However, between 3 and 4 months he has only gone from 12lb4 to 12lb10 which now puts him below 9th percentile. Even taking into account slower weight gain in ebf babies this still seems too little.

Over the last month his feeds have become quicker and he has started sleeping through the night but this has been led by him. I still breastfeed on demand and offer him the breast regularly through the day.

Does this seem to be a problem? He is happy and alert with plenty of wet/dirty nappies.

Going up or down a centile is fine - most babies move around rather than sticking to a line.

Thanks, he has now not pooed for 4 days but plenty of wet nappies.

My LO has moved up and down percentiles. She is now 4 months old and only puts on a few oz a week. She is ebf and I went into meltdown when her weight gain slowed. My HV put my mind at ease reassuring me that she was alert , content and still gaining weight although a little slower, which sounds like your little man is too. I got frustrated when I realised that the percentile graph for ebf is the same graph for formula fed babies. I was also under the impression is can be normal for ebf babies to go for a few days without a dirty nappy...as breast milk is tailored just for them! But ask your HV for advice if you are worried. ??

Thanks for the advice, glad to know others have been through similar. Had a look at the link and don't think my supply has decreased but an interesting read.
