inexpensive breastfeeding tops

Hi,

I've got a couple of cross over breastfeeding tops from h&m but really need some more. Do you have any recommendations for nice functional tops? I need to wear more than these two for the next 5 months but don't want to spend a fortune.

Thank you!

I wouldn't bother with special tops - get some vests with adjustable straps and wear them under loose tops, then you can pull the vest down and the top up. Wrap dresses and button up tops are also good.

I pinched this idea: www.breastvest.co.uk/ but instead of buying the official I bought a couple really cheap Primark vest tops with adjustable strap length. I lengthened the straps then wore it resting under my boobs and then I just wore all my usual tops. So you can pull up your top without exposing your belly and access your nursing bra. Very discrete and means you don't have to buy any special clothes.

I wouldn't bother either: tank top/t-shirt underneath, bit man shirt/long cardi on top - lift one, pull the other one down. Easy access and warm.

Seconded, H&M do good cheap vests with really stretchy straps, just get loads of them and wear under normal tops.

I made the mistake of buying breast feeding tops early on. Few were as good as wearing a vest under a normal top (as others have said, pull the vest under your boob then lift normal top up = minimal flashing). That said, I did get a couple of nice dresses and t shirts from [www.mamafeelsgood.com] some of which I still wear even now I'm not breast feeding!

Yes, layer strappy vests from primark.

They wash, dry and last really well - I ended up reusing the ones I'd bought with DS1 for DS2 - 3.5 years later.

Definitely buy some stretchy vests and just wear them under everything. They are a few pounds each and I just wore my normal stuff on top. Cardigans are good though for keeping you warm :-)

Link disaster! Anyway, meant to say that their stuff works on a similar principle to the vest underneath trick, so a lot less flashy than other feeding clothes

Jojo Maman Bebe do a really nice quality Breton striped breastfeeding top - £26 but they sometimes have a 10% discount on, and it does wash very well.

Also try Vertbaudet

stretchy vests under tops - top up, vest down, boob out, baby on. Nice and warm in winter too, and you can keep wearing your usual tops. I bought a few of vests from M&S and just rotated them.

I found a large infinity scarf very useful.

Primark vests are like £2 so it doesn't matter when they get stained or covered in sick Grin

Question, I'm i the only one who doesn't bother with a bra underneath despite the fact that they've gone way south
