Is your baby on ranitidine?

Can I ask what weight/age and dosage they're on? DD is 13lb and on 0.5ml 3 times a day which was prescribed to her at 10lb7. She is getting bad again but GPs won't up her dose. One said to wean her off it completely Hmm wondering if it's worth trying another GP.

DS is 5 months, 16lbs and on 1.5ml (of 150mg/10ml liquid) ranitidine once a day, but also taking omeprazole twice a day.

That said, we are really keen to get him off it, as even his high doses have not done much to help the reflux, and once we start him on solids are a bit concerned about the evidence of the acid drugs and food allergies. We are hoping to wean off the medicines when weaning onto solids (tried early solids too, but he was having none of it!)

I want her to be off it before she's weaned too but she's only 3mo so a while for us yet. Did the meds help at the start or have they never been much help for your DS sunnysummer?

Mine is. We are on 1ml x3 per day, she is 18lb. I have recalculated the dose myself according to weight and guidelines, as have pharmacy qual as when she started weaning I found the reflux got a lot worse, prob as some foods have a bit of dairy in and she has probable cmpi.

They never really helped at all - we actually went off them with virtually no difference after 11 weeks, but then at week 15-16 the sleep regression plus reflux made it pretty unbearable (3 weeks where he only slept in 30-45 min slots during the night as well as day!), so we went back on in desperation. No change yet, but the doses are a lot higher than first time around, so were going to give it a couple more weeks.

Sorry, went off them in week 10, I meant!
