DD is 21 weeks and now ff during the day as I'm going back to work in 2 weeks. She's taking only about 12oz formula betwen 7am and 7pm and up every 3 hours breastfeeding at night! I'm shattered and it can't go on!

Is there any way to improve her daytime intake? Any tips? Otherwise it's the end of bf for me...I can't function like this on mat leave never mind in a job!

Not got any advice sorry roaming but didn't want you to go unanswered. Have you spoken to a BFC about this? If you haven't got the helpline numbers try googling the National Breastfeeding Helpline smile

She sounds normal..... Check out the Isis website which shows that many kids don't sleep through for the majority of the time until 2 or even 3.
I returned to work when DS was 10mo..... He was not sleeping through & in fact still isn't at 12mo!
At 6mo he was awake every 2-3 hours and now it is more like every 4-5 hours.
The one thing I can tell you is that you, as a mum, have hidden depths you didn't know you had and you will survive. You will need support from your partner but you will both get through it.
Good luck. These weeks and months will fly by and before you know it she will be a teenager who will never get up!!

Agree that the night waking is perfectly normal, just thought a BFC might be able to talk to the OP about getting Lo to take more formula in the day smile

Night weaning doesn't automatically mean sleeping through either OP so if you do stop bfing, its best to think of strategies on how to cope with the night wakings before you start the process smile
