Upper Lip tie: Anyone know of costs involved to have it snipped?

Hi,

DS2 had a PTT which has been snipped and our feeding has improved dramatically. But, his latch isn't as brilliant as it could be. Mainly because he can't flange his lips properly, and he slips off still. As you can imagine this causes a lot of frustration on both our parts. It's not causing any problems feeding (mainly because I am a fountain). We could continue without it being done, but I wanted to know how much it could cost to correct.

Thanks

If you can't get it on the NHS (obviously check this out first), there's a specialist at Manchester Children's Hospital who sees prospective tongue/lip tie patients privately for £150 (well the appointment costs that and I believe includes snipping if necessary) - so maybe that as a ballpark?

Check out Cote Royd Dental practise in Huddersfield and Malcolm Levenkind in North London. They both do laser and were trained by Larry Kotlow. There are not that many people who will agree to revising lip ties as far as I know.

He might break it naturally. Dd partial broke hers the other day (she's 17 months) after a fall. Only a minor bleed and she was fine. Just a thought as I was thinking about whether to get it snipped.

YY to mawbroon suggestions. Don't go to Patrick Sheehan. He rarely revises, and when he does, it's partial revision only.
