Infant feeding

My six week old DD just slept through the night. For eight hours! Please rejoice with me!

Well I can't bloody believe it! We've been edging up to this for a while and now she's gone and done it! 9pm until 5am.

I so deserve this...DS woke every 2/3 hours. And he STILL gets up at 2yr 1 month!

I'm happy happy!

Yes it's subject to change blah blah but this was just unheard of with DS and I almost went insane. Yipee!

Anyone else got a sleeper? I used to think people made it up...

Oh and it's a total myth that anything you 'do' helps IMO. I've done nothing but feed her on demand and she's just worked it out herself.

I always thought that formula might be the magic secret to a 'sleeper' but nope! BFing doesn't necessarily mean sleep deprivation insanity. Hurrah!

Fantastic!
And you are right - sounds like you deserve it!
It might even last. :)
DD was a terrible sleeper (didnt sleep through until she was 2) and aged 4 still wakes up sometimes.

DS1 would've been a good sleeper but I had to wake him to give him medication every 6 hours and two of those coincided with sleep times :(

DS2 is a dream! He has slept through since day 1 (I didn't though - I was convinced there was something wrong!). Even when his teeth are coming through or he's ill he still sleeps! And yes, I deserve it too!

Forgot to say all mine were BF and I thought that might've had something to do with DD not sleeping - but no it was just her!

The other night my nine week old woke up less often than my 2.8 year old. Shock

I've done exactly the same thing with both of them (breastfed on demand) but DS1 slept for two hours max at a time on a good night, or 45 minutes on a bad night. DS2 has several times hit five hours in a stretch over the last couple of weeks.

It's a bit too early to celebrate as we haven't yet hit teething and mischief for DS2 but wow, what a delightful surprise it is. I always used to wonder how on earth people got sleepers......turns out, it's total chance!

My LO started sleeping through at 6 weeks and still is but then she doesn't really sleep much in the day.

Both of mine slept through 7 to 7 from pretty early on, dd 10 wks, DS 14 weeks. Both bf and both still sleep very well. We didn't need any controlled crying, co-sleeping or retreat strategies they both just 'got' the night time sleep thing thankfully Smile

My DTs are flirting with sttn. They take it in turns to have a good week! But DD is often doing 7.30 to 4 or 5 now at 15 weeks. DS is a total starvo at the mo and likes at least 2 night feeds. Am trying the old feed every 2 hours trick to counter act that one. One good night does you the world of good
