Not sure if this is the best place but you guys seem to know all there is to know about bf so I'd thought I'd try here. smile

My DD is 14 months and still bf. She's been vomiting today, since just before lunchtime. My DS (3) is just getting over the same thing. As one child gets better, the other is struck down. Sigh. Feeling like DH and I are on borrowed time.

Anyway, my question is do I just keep bf through this? I know she isn't going to want any solids and will probably want more milk than normal. Do I keep feeding even if she's bringing it up?

Thanks. thanks

I was told to continue. Including when I had D&V myself. <shudders>

Thank you! I thought that was the case.

Wouldbe My DS has had d&v since Saturday morning and the doctor saw him yesterday. We followed the advice on nhs website and it said the same thing as your doctor.

bitbewildered I'm hoping it doesn't come to that!

<whispers> I got fed up with DS bringing it straight back up 5 mins later and refused to feed him one afternoon. I gave him water to sip instead, and dilute apple juice. Once that was staying down (by the evening), then I let him have milk again. I just couldn't cope with the chewed nipples.

Surely water is okay for a child of that age, especially if it's more likely to stay down?

Hi baroness. She wasn't even keeping the water down yesterday. There was a reasonable gap between water and vomit so I think some was being absorbed, and her nappy was nice and wet this morning (oh the things you never thought you'd find yourself being happy about). She was last sick at 6ish this morning and then wanted a boob (more for comfort I think), and (crossing all available appendages) its stayed down so far. We're parked on the sofa watching endless cbeebies. DS has been ill since Saturday so it's been nothing but sodding cbeebies on a loop since then.

Can't you alternate with a bit of YouTube? Peppa Pig, Mickey Mouse, Pink Panther, and Scooby Doo - it all helps your sanity, you know! grin

Glad she's on the mend.

If I suggest YouTube, DS wants to watch either trains or buses! There are a surprising number of people that spend an awful lot of time recording trains and buses! hmm smile
